FAQ 1 : What is the difference between "My Dashboard" and "My Profile"?

The dashboard is the first page you'll see when you log in. It is your own customizable home page. This is the place where you are going to be able to find updated information about your network (whose connected with whom, how many connections do you have? etc...). You can access this information without having to go through the menus.

As said before, this page is customizable, meaning that you can easily personnalize it: add/delete widgets, move them around, create the layout of your page to give you the information you are most interested in.
The dashboard is accesible by clicking on the "HOME" tab on the top menu.

On the other hand, the profile which has a similar section as the dashboard (personnal info in the blue box), the main content of the page is different.
Your presentation is going to be visible to other members. Here you will find the different elements of a CV (Experience, Education, Recommendations). This is the information which will allow you to present yourself professionnaly. You can add content under different formats such as text, media, and Microsoft Office documents.
The bottom part of the profile shows your contacts and tag words.
FAQ 2 : What is "My Universe" and how do I add RSS feeds?

My Universe is a dedicated space for information about sports and sports business.
There you will be able to follow the latest sports related news using RSS feeds selected by MSP or by adding one of your choice.

To briefly summarize, an RSS feed is a text article hosted on another website. These websites post new articles regularly, therefore RSS feeds are a good way of keeping informed with the latest news. An RSS feed will allow you to stay updated and to access the websites diclosing the latest information on the topics you have chosen in just one click.

To add a feed that is not part of our "MSP Selection" list, you will need to insert the RSS feed URL recognizable by the symbol:

Your chosen RSS feeds will be visible on the right side of your Universe page where you will have to drag and drop the feeds you want to see. This part will be visible on your profile to those who visit, therefore showing what your interests are.

Finally, the bottom part of the UNIVERSE section allows us to add media content. In order to do so, click on "add medias" inside the "MY UNIVERSE" editing tool. From there you will be able to add your photos and videos.
FAQ 3 : What are "My Company Profiles" and "My Education Profiles"

These pages are different from your profile.

If you are the owner or have the legal authority to communicate on behalf of a company or educational program, you will be able to create a company and/or education profile. Thanks to this tool you can access your company and/or education profile(s), edit or add to the information within the profiles, but also access valuable information such as number of members, hits, creation date, etc...

Some key advantages of creating a company/education profile are the ability to communicate your activities to a targeted audience within the sport industry, having a window for posting job and internship vacancies, or the recruitment of potential business partners. You are basically creating a community around your page.

On these profiles, as on your personal profile, the universe part is customizable. In order to customize this section, click on the "edit" button of the universe section on the right side of the page.

*Having a company or education profile is not necessary in order to view information of other published profiles.
FAQ 4 : How do I connect with other members (add them to my MSP contacts)?

In order to build your network you will need to connect with other members.

To do this, look for the link "Establish Connection" located to the right of a member's photo on their profile page.
Click this link and enter a brief message why you wish to establish a connection, which upon receipt will be accepted or denied by the person.

Note that there are 2 types of connection requests: direct and indirect. Indirect requests are made through your existing direct connections to members of their direct network and do not consume connection credits.
FAQ 5 : The basic research (top left above My Profile) does not give me the desired reults.

Have you checked the different tabs on the results page?

When detailing your research, be careful with spaces between key words (ex. RipCurl = no results, Rip Curl = 5 results).

Use quotation marks for searching a specific group of words (ex. "Product Mananger") et use the asterix to search the beginning of a word. Type the start of the word followed by the asterix, and in between quotation marks (ex. "Prod*").
FAQ 6 : Why when I do a search are the members of MSP blurred?

As a free member of MSP, you are entitled to certain functionalities.
You can access limited search results and summarized pages.

In order to have full search results, you need to elevate yourself to a premium membership. To do this go to the "Services" button and click on the "Premium Account" window. You will then be guided on how to acquire a premium account.
FAQ 7 : Where can I see the messages that I have sent?

A message relates to a discussion. Once you have sent a message you being a discussion, when you respond to a message you enter into a discussion.
Your mailbox will show you messages you have sent (in black) and received (in blue).

Your mailbox will also receive messages concerning connections, applications, as well as offer and company pushes.
FAQ 8 : How can I publish an offer?

To create and manage your offers, just click "My Offers" within the vertical left pane of any page.

You can then post an offer (careful, once created an offer can no longer be edited, so be sure to verify that it meets your expectations before validating), and also manage or stop its publication should you see neccessary.

On the upper band of the "My Offers" section, the "Post an offer" button allows you to create a new offer.

Otherwise, you may also access your offers from your dashboard by clicking the tab "HOME" on the horizontal menu.
FAQ 9 : I attached an offer to a Company Profile but it is not visible.

When you attach an offer to a company, your request requires validation from the company profile's mananger.

If you are the page manager, within the "Requests" tab you will find a message "Attachment request". To accept or deny, check the box to the left of the message and click "Accept" or "Deny".

TO accept an attachment request you have 2 possibilities: accept just for that particular request, or accept all requests from that member to your company.
This last option avoids having to accept for each offer created, the attachment will become automatic.
FAQ 10 : What is the purpose of TAGS?

A tag is a key word(s) associatied with a profile allowing users to find the profile by entering the tag into the "Search" bar.

The more tags you enter, the more visible you will be in search results.
FAQ 11 : What is the "Profiles" tab for?

This tab allows users to search the different types of profiles found on the site: Members, Companies, Educations
